Besides his primary role as a top PGA Teaching Professional, Johnny Warren is also an accomplished “old time” fiddler. He began playing fiddle as a child while under the watchful eye of his legendary father, Paul Warren. His father was best known for his fiddle work with Hall of Fame members Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, as well as, Kitty Wells and Johnny and Jack. Johnny is a professional musician but plays mostly for his own enjoyment. However, on occasion, he will show up with some of the finest “bluegrass pickers” in clubs around the Nashville area. Also, he is known for studio recordings, occasional show dates and teaching “old time” fiddle workshops. An example of his most recent work is showcased through his cd “A Tribute to Fiddlin’ Paul Warren”, that features Johnny and banjo wiz, Charlie Cushman. Special guest appearing on the cd include Earl Scruggs, Curly Seckler, Marty Stuart, Tim Graves and Kent Blanton.
